TOMORROW (Friday) Torridge District Council's Plans Committee will discuss an application seeking permission to demolish an existing shop at Belle Vue, off Fore Street, Holsworthy and erect three dwellings.

Mr S Hart proposes to remove the single storey building and replace it with three two bed town houses.

The application was called in by Cllr Brown who said: "This appears to be a potential improvement to a slightly rundown area of Holsworthy and smaller dwellings may be helpful for first time buyers in the current housing situation. However, I am mindful that there are also potential areas of concern over parking and access issues."

The case officer Miss S Chappell has recommended the plans for refusal saying: "The proposed terraced housing would not integrate well into the existing townscape."

However, councillors will make their decision at the meeting in Bideford tomorrow.
