MEMBERS of the Holsworthy Moorland Training Group have once again had a successful weekend on Dartmoor when their 35, 45 and 55 mile teams participated in the Ten Tors challenge.

This challenge, taken up by 2,400 young people each year, still remains one of the few events available where young people can really put themselves to the test.

A test where skills in map reading, teamwork, survival and stamina along with the will and determination to make it to the finish without any outside help really do count.

With rain forecast at the beginning of the week it was with some relief that the weekend stayed generally dry and warm with only the occasional shower. This provided perfect conditions for the teams and following the prolonged dry spell the moor was dry and wet feet were not an issue.
