The 125th Holsworthy & Stratton Show is fast approaching and preparations are well underway.

As always the stock, horses and ponies are the main feature of the show with their prize giving parades during the afternoon, but as well as that there is a full timetable of other activities and entertainment, not just in the main ring and entertainment ring but also around the showground.

The show prides itself on being “a great day out for all the family” and they have a superb range of entertainment for everyone.

The committee have lots of exciting plans for this year’s entertainment ring, including Parelli Horses, gun dogs, ferrets, falconry and much more. The full line up is available on the ‘What’s On’ page of the Holsworthy & Stratton Show’s website.

There promises to be a wide range of equestrian, cattle, sheep and pygmy goat classes. From tiny goats to huge bulls, the show team try to ensure there is a class for all. The grand parade of prize winners is also a sight to behold.

The fun dog show is open to all, with all proceeds going to charity. And if all that isn’t enough, there will be more than 200 trade stands offering everything from handmade jewellery to huge agricultural machinery.

Around the showground the ‘Sheep Show’ is edu-tainment at its very best. This fun filled show introduces showgoers to nine different breeds of sheep. Each has a story to tell with interesting facts and figures relating to their breed — with each taking their place on stage accompanied by their very own theme tune.

Nobby the Norfolk Horn is the star of the show — and he knows it.

Following the woolly antics of their introduction, there will be  a live shearing display accompanied by an informative narration where people can learn the reasons we shear and the complexities of wool. And if that’s not enough they round it off with a star-studded flock treating audiences to “the Sheep Show Shuffle”.

“We are very excited to be hosting The Sheep Show on their first visit to the showground
