THERE are still tables available for a charity event, being held at a Holsworthy restaurant on Sunday.
Rachel Brooks, owner of the Bay of Bengal Indian restaurant in Holsworthy told the 'Post' that she organised the event to raise funds for the two hospital wards that helped and supported toddler Kai Johns and his family during his illness.
Sadly, Kai passed away on November 1 at the North Devon District Hospital, aged just three-years-old.
Rachel, who lives next to Kai's grandmother, has spoken to his parents Donna and Graham about the fundraiser, and they decided that it should still go ahead.
On Sunday (November 15), half of what is made on food during the day will be split between two causes — the Caroline Thorpe Ward at the North Devon District Hospital and the Intensive Care unit at Bristol Hospital.
There will also be a raffle and diners will be invited to make a donation to boost the funds raised.
There are still tables available throughout the day and evening, and Rachel has appealed to people to support the event.
"It's still going to go ahead. It's not going to help Kai now but it will help other children in the future."
If anyone would like to find out more information, or to book a table, please contact Rachel on 01409 254100.
