The staff of Holsworthy Museum, all of whom are volunteers, were delighted recently to receive a letter from the national Museum Accreditation Officer, Pippa Griffith, congratulating them and stating that their museum had passed a rigorous assessment with flying colours with no areas in need of improvement. Accredited museums must adhere to minimum standards in how they care for and document their collections, how they are governed and managed, and on the information and services they offer to their users and must submit an accreditation return every two years.
