THE 2011 re-launch day of cinema at the Memorial Hall, Holsworthy, took place on Wednesday, January 12.
Forty-nine people watched the slightly raunchy comedy which was directed by Stephen Frears.
Previously, audience numbers have been disappointingly low, but as shown this week, providing that the correct calibre of film is on offer, people do want see film in Holsworthy. Next month the film on offer is the hit 'Made in Dagenham' directed by Nigel Cole of 'Calendar Girls' fame.
The film is set in 1968 and is a story based on the Ford Dagenham strike by 187 sewing machinists which led to the advent of the Equal Pay Act.
A spokesperson for the Memorial Hall said: "This 15 certificate film will appeal to all age groups, but especially to those of us that grew up in the 60s, why not come along and enjoy an evening's entertainment in a warm and friendly environment, maybe enjoy a drink or two with friends."
The Memorial Hall Cinema uses 'Filmbank' for the supply of its fully licensed films. If you have any ideas for future screenings, please contact the hall committee to share your thoughts. Titles are available for showing pre-release to DVD, which is directly following screenings in the major cinemas.
