The Holsworthy in Bloom awards were presented by Holsworthy Mayor Cllr Richard Brown and the town's Portreeve, Russell Dymond, on the Friday of St Peter's Fair Week (July 9).

It was a tough decision for the judges — the Mayor, Portreeve and Courtney Drew — however, it was revealed that Nigel Kivell, owner of the Kings Arms, in the Square, was the overall winner of the commercial section, with the White Hart Hotel successfully taking second place.

The residential garden winners were: first position Mr and Mrs Russell, second place Mrs Crocker of Stanhope Close and in joint third position was Mr and Mrs Weeks of Dobles Lane and Mrs Haywood of Deer Valley, Holsworthy.
