HOLSWORTHY Day Centre is to remain open for at least the next six months and to relocate to Holsworthy Hospital.
Set up in October 1991 as a charity to provide care and support to the elderly and handicapped of the area, the day centre has met three days a week in the Manor Suite at the rear of the Memorial Hall and has been supported financially by Social Services. But in the current period of financial stringency and following a sudden and unexpected hike in rent payable to the Memorial Hall, it was faced with the prospect of either closing or moving.
