Hundreds of bikes clattered together as they fought for a spot at the start line of a very special charity bike ride.
The Holsworthy Peloton Cycling Club held a charity bike ride, starting in Stanhope Park, in aid of the Devon Air Ambulance.
On behalf of the group Danny Hubbard said: “Our Holsworthy Peloton Big Charity Bike Ride was held on Sunday, August 13, this was a free entry bike ride offered to riders and clubs from around Devon and Cornwall. We saw 110 riders cross the start line on a choice of three routes 12, 40 and 62 miles.
“We had a fabulous feed and water station at the Arscott Hall, Tetcott at the halfway point for each route, this was very generously filled with a wide range of sandwiches, flapjacks, cakes, sweets, and many savoury snacks all kindly donated by our club members as well as other local clubs donating too. Waitrose Holsworthy also kindly donated a big box of bananas to help fuel our riders.”
The ride ended at the Holsworthy Area Sports Pavillion, where the riders enjoyed a drink from the bar, a chat with friends and the food moved back from the feed station.
Danny added: “We all had a fabulous day and raised a fantastic £2,356 for the much needed service of The Devon Air Ambulance.”
