On Sunday, November 29 members of Devon County Council and Torridge District Council were thanked by Holsworthy Chamber of Trade for their grants towards the Holsworthy Christmas lights. Richard Brown, Barry Parsons (Torridge councillors), Geoffrey Cox (MP for Torridge and West Devon) and Irving Cleave (who kindly supplies the machinery, free of charge, to put up the lights each year) were all invited to the Holsworthy luncheon that was held in the Memorial Hall, as a thank you from Holsworthy Chamber of Trade. At the lunch, Geoffrey Cox did the Holscard draw which was won by Mrs Brenna of South Lydford, who won a £50 voucher that she can redeem in any of the shops supporting the Holscard Scheme.
