THIS year, cancer will be coming to steal Christmas from over 200 children, but helping CLIC Sargent this Christmas will allow the charity to be ready for them from the moment they are diagnosed, with a fundraising collection taking place at Morrison’s in Bude this month.
Last year, CLIC Sargent supported just under 60 families going through a childhood cancer in Cornwall alone. The challenges the families meet every day feel even tougher during the Christmas period; that’s why CLIC Sargent are seeking public support.
CLIC Sargent fundraising manager, Jordan Anderton, said: “Come up with your own unique festive fundraising ideas or organise a Christmas jumper day, Christmas cake competition or bake sale — any support you can provide really will make a difference to the families we support.
“Whether you decide to organise a fundraiser or even donate some presents to the local children hospital; I will be here to support you and provide you with any advice and guidance you need. Help stop cancer costing Christmas this December by taking part in some festive fun.”
On Saturday, December 17, a couple from Bude will be holding a bucket collection at the town’s Morrison’s store, to raise funds for CLIC Sargent.
