ONE lady from Launceston will ‘brave the shave’ in November to raise money for Cancer Research in memory of her parents who both lost their battles with cancer.
Heidi Luscombe will have her head shaved at the Brendon Arms, in Bude, on November 26, at 8pm.
Heidi’s parents David and Sandra Gray, were both from Launceston, and lost their battles with cancer. Heidi will now shave her head in memory of her mother, one year after her death, while raising vital funds for Cancer Research. Her target is £5,000.
Heidi said: “Cancer has taken both my parents and to honour my mum’s memory a year after her death I will be doing a sponsored event at the Brendon Arms in Bude on the November 26, at 8pm.
“I will be having my hair shaved off and I’m hoping to raise a good amount of money to help towards the research needed to help others. Any donation no matter the amount will be so greatly received. Thank you so very much to you all.”
Heidi’s daughter Alannah Luscombe said she is really proud of her mother: “Mum’s really excited for the head shave, she’s constantly thinking of others and since the day she lost her mum she has wanted to raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research.
“I’m very proud of what my mum is doing. Losing her mum has had a serious impact on her life. They weren’t just mother and daughter they were best friends and even though nan would call mum crazy for what she is doing she would be so, so proud of her.”
