A FOUR-year-old girl from Launceston, who was born with a life-threatening heart condition, has started school with her identical twin sister after undergoing complex heart surgery. Olivia Fowler was born with several of her organs in the wrong place and without a connection between her heart and her lungs. She has had to undergo three heart operations since birth at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. Whilst her identical twin Elizabeth was able to go to nursery, Olivia had to spend a significant amount of time in hospital, including several trips to accident and emergency and weeks in intensive care. However, following her third operation, which took place last year, Olivia has fought her way back to health and the twins were able to start school together, as their family had hoped.
