More than one million people across Devon and Cornwall have had their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine.

The statistics, which provide the position as of April 25, show that there have been 1,417,398 vaccines delivered in the two counties, with 1,008,542 of them being the first dose.

In Cornwall, 70.1 per cent of adults have had one dose, with 29.8 per cent having had their second dose as well.

This equates to 324,830 people who have had their first dose, and 137,721 a second dose.

(These figures will have risen in the most recent days as it shows the position as of Sunday.)

In Devon, 68.4 per cent of adults have had at least vaccine dose, while more than a quarter – 27.1 per cent – have had their second dose.

This equates to 683,712 people who have had their first dose, with 271,135 of them having had a second dose.

The South West has moved onto vaccinations for the under-45s in the last week, with almost 45,000 people in this age group in Cornwall having received their first jab.
