ON Thursday, September 24, Lady Mary Holborow, Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant for Cornwall, opened Budehaven's new health centre for young people 'The Haven'.

The Haven now provides students with an onsite facility for them to visit. It allows all students from Budehaven Community School and schools in the surrounding area to use the facilities confidentially whenever they want.

The surrounding schools stretch from Hartland to Tintagel and inland to Whitstone and North Petherwin. The health centre has been designed accordingly to the students' preferences and all elements in the centre were chosen by them, including the "funky" chairs, (as they were described and tested by many at the opening day).

There was a fantastic turnout to the day, around 85 to 90 people, including stakeholders involved with the project and those from the local community, who attended the opening of the health centre.

Many at the opening day, both students and teachers to name a few, were looking forward to the opening of the centre.
