Launceston Choral Society is pleased to announce that the work to be performed at its spring concert on Saturday, March 25, will be Parts 2 and 3 of Handel’s “Messiah” which they hope will be a delightful experience for both singers and audience alike.

As with many local organisations, the society has found that the COVID pandemic changed the way we live our lives with many people having moved out of the area or are not returning to their former activities.

The society has not sung “Messiah! for many years now, since well before the COVID lockdown, and hopes that as well as attracting a large audience for this glorious work it will also attract new singers to the choir.

Launceston Choral Society meets on a Monday – restarting for 2023 on January 9 – at 7.30pm in Launceston Central Methodist Church Sunday School Hall PL15 8BA.

Potential new members are welcome to try us out for a couple of weeks to see if they like it. The society welcomes all voices but especially tenors and basses.

There is a friendly and agreeable atmosphere at our rehearsals and concerts at which we always raise money for local good causes. An ability to read music, while helpful, is not essential.

Musical director, Jonathan Mann, ensures that everyone enjoys their music making with the choir.
