CENTRAL Methodist Tuesday Group, Launceston, met at Gunnislake Railway Station and boarded the 3.45pm train to Bere Ferrers Station and Heritage Visitor Centre recently.

The group was met by proprietor Chris Grove who took members around his trains and 'The Tamar Belle', a restored 1958 Pullman-style dining car, where he served 'afternoon tea' of assorted sandwiches, cream scones topped with strawberries or raspberries followed by an assortment of cakes.

Chris then told how he came to buy Bere Ferrers Station, then the adjoining goods yard land where he now holds a range of railway items including 1950s LMS holiday sleeping carriages to let and restaurant carriages available for wedding parties or railway enthusiasts to step back in time.
