OVER 50 people attended the first meeting of the Bude and Holsworthy Macular Disease Support Group, on Monday, March 4 at Holsworthy Hospital.

The group was set up last year after a demand was found in the area, the nearest group to Bude and Holsworthy had been in Bideford, which many had been travelling to.

Peter Ellis stepped down as group leader at Bideford in January to front the new Bude and Holsworthy group.

The support group welcomes anyone who suffers with glaucoma or any three types of macular disease: Hole in the macular, dry macular (untreatable) and wet macular.
