THERE was a wet start to the 108th Camelford Show held at Halwill Barton last week, but the weather improved throughout the morning, which encouraged the crowds to flock through the gates. Cup secretary Amanda Mason said: "We have been dodging the showers and the crowd seems to be coming in." Her thoughts were echoed by other members of the agricultural committee. Vice-president John Bradley said he was pleased the weather had 'cleared off' and that the forecast for the day was improving: "It's not beach weather and it's not too bad up here today." Mr Bradley is set to be next year's show president and joked 'if they will have me!' For the full report, and a round-up of the area news and sport, see this week's edition of the Post.
