THIS weekend will be a busy one for the Bude Cleaner Seas Project. On both Saturday and Sunday the project will have a stand from 10am at the Bude for Food Festival at The Castle. From 11am on Sunday, the project will also be hosting a beach clean at Summerleaze, as part of the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean weekend. Cleaner Seas project manager Ian Saltern said: "Bude is building a well-deserved reputation for great food, great Cornish hospitality and clean bathing water. "The town is raising its game, which is great to see. However, there is always room for improvement, so we'd be really interested to hear people's concerns about bathing water quality. Do come and talk to us at the Bude for Food Festival." Sunday's beach clean will start at 11am, meeting at the Interactive Bathing Water Sign (by the toilets) at Summerleaze car park. It is one of more than 100 cleans taking place right across the country as part of the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean weekend. Ian added: "The main holiday season is just about over now, so this is a great opportunity to tidy the beach and dunes at Summerleaze. "Over 10,000 people will take part in a beach clean this coming weekend, so please come and do your bit for your local beach". Those attending the beach clean should remember to dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Young people under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
