THERE is not long left to get entry forms submitted for this year’s Launceston’s Got Talent — there wont be a chance to perform in front of the Queen, but there are other prizes on offer for those who can wow the judges.

Presented by the Rotary Club of Launceston, the judging will take place at the Storm venue, Pennygillam, in front of a live audience on Sunday, November 29. It is free to watch, free to enter and will begin at 5pm, ending at 7pm.

The competition is open to anyone 16 and under and will be split into two categories. The first will be the 11 and under with a cash prize of up to £50 and the second will be the 16 and under with a cash prize of up to £100.

Enter as either a solo artist or as a small group performance and the skill can be anything from singing to dancing, comedy to juggling — just show off enough flare in five minutes to impress the judges. There are medals and certificates up for grabs for all competitors and changing rooms are available.

Rules are as follows: you must be within the age group on the day of the performance; participants should arrive at the venue for rehearsal between 1pm and 2pm on the day; if backing music is required it must be brought on a memory stick; the maximum performance time is five minutes; judges’ decision is final; each child must have a parent or guardian present throughout; small groups can be no more than four members; photographs may be used from the event in the local press, Rotary website or on a Facebook page for future advertisement.

Entry closes on November 14 and forms are available at the Tourist Information Centre, schools or by emailing [email protected]

Further information can be found on the Rotary website, Rotary Facebook page or Storm venue.
