ST BREWARD’S annual Plant Sale Coffee Morning proved to be a great success, with a record amount of money raised.
The previous warm and sunny day enticed gardeners out to enjoy a coffee and browse or buy some new plants for the spring and summer season. The plants made £213, and the total net profit amounted to £535, both totals being records for the event.
The plant tables were beautifully presented, resplendent with plants, together with a plethora of healthy vegetables, shrubs, indoor plants, floriferous bedding plants and even a tree chilli.
The raffle had a garden theme and the cake stall had plenty to satisfy most tastes, with floral designs and decorations on the cupcakes. The puzzle table made an appearance again, and the bric-a-brac had a ‘nearly new’ section.
The book stall had yet more interesting books, particularly gardening ones, and the kitchen café was busy and buzzing with gardening talk.
Caroline Hooper, the events co-ordinator and PCC treasurer, said: “All round a tremendous and joyful success. A really big thank you to all involved, and happy gardening.”
