IN order to raise money for a charity close to her heart, Ciera Faid, from Bude, will be undertaking a sponsored head-shave.
On Thursday, July 21, Ciera will have her head shaved to raise money for Breast Cancer Care, a charity very close to her heart.
The national charity gives expertise and support to women suffering from breast cancer and those going through chemotherapy.
Ciera said: “After a relative of mine was diagnosed and began her treatment, her hair started to gradually fall out, not just on her head, but along with her eyebrows and eyelashes. Although we all agreed she looked stunning bald, it’s understandable that many women must feel so insecure about losing control of their body.
“This is why I have decided to shave my head in support for all the women going through this, to show them they are not alone.”
Her auntie, Nicole, who has previously shaved her hair for another cause, will be shaving Ciera’s hair for her.
Ciera has set up a JustGiving page, to help her achieve her £100 goal; any donations can be made through www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Ciera-Faid
