TIME is running out to vote for young people who have participated in any type of volunteer work, for the 2016 Bude CATS (Community Action Through Sport) Awards.

The Bude CATS committee is urging members of the community to cast their votes as soon as possible and to vote for any young person aged between 5 and 25 who has participated in any kind of volunteer work — it doesn’t have to be sport related.

Bude CATS believe in getting positive young people in the Bude area the recognition and reward that they deserve for their volunteer work.

To do this, they urge members of the community, organisations, charities and businesses to fill out a nomination form for the young person they believe deserves the award.

The closing date for receiving the nominations will be April 14, and the Bude CATS awards evening will take place at the Parkhouse Centre, Bude, on May 26.

The last CATS awards had around 400 people attending, with 170 young people receiving awards for all types of volunteering, from level 1 to level 5.

There, the young people listened to the inspirational stories by the athletes and sporting volunteers who came along to give speeches at the event.

There is a nomination form which is accessible for those who are interested in nominating a young person for the 2016 Bude CATS Awards.

The nomination form is available on their website www.communityactionthroughsport.org
