FIVE generations of a family gathered with friends and the staff of Holsworthy Day Centre on Tuesday, June 23, to celebrate the 104th birthday of Mrs Elizabeth Aegerter.
On the previous day, her actual birthday, she had already enjoyed a family party in Barnstaple.
The mayor of Holsworthy, Cllr John Allen, called in to present her with a bouquet of flowers.
Affectionately known as Cush, she was born in Glasgow and lived in London and Tanganyika, East Africa where her husband Bob was involved with the groundnut scheme, before moving to Devon 51 years ago.
She has two sons, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, many of whom were present.
