APOLOGIES were extended to residents of Marhamchurch after the gas supply was interrupted at the weekend.
Residents took to social media on Saturday afternoon, November 19, to report problems with the gas supply.
The interruption was caused by water getting into the gas network. Wales and West Utilities reported on Sunday evening that affected homes they could access had their gas supply restored.
Clive Book, head of emergency service at Wales and West Utilities, said: “We are sorry that homes in the Marhamchurch area had their gas supply interrupted this weekend. This was caused by water getting into the gas network.
“All affected homes that we have been able to access are now back on gas. Where the residents are out we have left a card letting them know how to contact us when they return. We’ll then come out to safely turn their gas back on and relight their gas appliances.
“We know this incident has been very disruptive, and we appreciate the inconvenience it has caused. We would like to thank the local community for bearing with us while we got things back to normal as safely and as quickly as we could.”
