THE Scouts and Explorer Scouts in Bude have been busy fundraising for a trip to Switzerland.

They will be staying at the International Scout Centre at Kandersteg next August — the older scouts will be able to take part in ice climbing, glacier walking and white water rafting, while the younger scouts can hike and will get to experience staying up in the mountains.

As well as a sponsored cycle in the Triangle, the scouts also did face painting and sold cakes.

The scouts went to Switzerland in 2010 and scout leader Kevin O‘Reilly hopes around £800 or £900 can be raised from sponsorship to go towards their next trip.

Look out for their big breakfast event at the Central Methodist Church room along from Neetside on August bank holiday Monday.
