ST WINWALOE'S Church, Poundstock, was packed for a concert with the Launceston Male Voice Choir. The choir demonstrated the full-range of Cornish male voice singing at the event, put together by the church and Bangors Chapel, with a wide range of hymns and songs from the first world war, all sung with their customary precision and flair. Soloist Jonathan Mann produced an amazing range of sounds from the church's new Allen organ — even including a steam train — culminating in the magnificent Widor's Toccata. Compere Eva Paynter presided over the concert and an excellent supper in the Gildhouse drew a lovely evening to a close.
