IN AID of charity, Dave Garrett from Stratton and Mark Edwards (pictured) took on a 125-mile non-stop walk.

They were raising money for Children’s Hospice South West, and so far have collected £1,513.

The walk began at Little Bridge House, Fremington, and from there they walked along the Tarka Trail and around the surrounding area of Westward Ho!, through nights, rain, sun, and tiredness.

Dave said: “The challenge was tougher than expected with the second night being particularly hard, who knew that there are really fairies on the way to Braunton. We had loads of support walkers and feeders, without whom we would have not been able to finish, mentally and physically it helped having other people around.

“We did arrive, with much relief, in Westward ho! at 3pm on Monday and were welcomed by our family and friends. So thank you to them and everyone who beeped and wished us well on our way.”
