After two years away from hosting fundraising events, due to covid-19, the Friends of Delabole School (FODS) held a bake sale in the school playground to raise money.

Despite not having the opportunity to fundraise the last couple of years, the FODS still managed to pay extras for the children such as leavers gifts, Christmas parties and renovations of the schools ‘giants head’ sculpture.

The bake sale event called on parents, grandparents and members of the community to bake something sweet or savoury to help raise money. The occasion was so well supported, the left-over baked goods were sold the following day too. A total of 32 sweet and savoury boxes were sold and delivered for free by the kids and £554.72 was raised.

The FODS have said a massive thank you to everyone that supported the event, by both buying and baking. They plan to hold a school disco in April, free to the school children of Delabole to attend.
