MEMBERS of Launceston Hospital and Community Friends presented the hospital with around £7,000 worth of new furniture recently.
A dining table and chairs for each of the day rooms and new armchairs to go beside each bed for the comfort of the patients was presented to the hospital.
The money was given to the League of Friends from the Rotary Charity Shop in Launceston, along with donations from people in the area.
Members, friends and staff then went on to hold a short carol service in the wards, led by Mary Butler from the Salvation Army and Gary and Dennis from the hospital chaplaincy team.
Mr Balsdon played on the piano accordion for the singing of the carols.
