Get set for a weekend of wildlife surveying and coastal fun as Freshwater West welcomes a BioBlitz Bonanza on Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19.
The 24-hour event, which gets underway from 10 am on Saturday, is a race against the clock to record as many animals, birds, insects and plants as you can during your visit.
It's a brilliant way to discover the flora and fauna that call the beach and neighbouring Castlemartin Corse and Gupton Farm home.
There'll be a series of sessions to enjoy across the two days, which you can sign up for at the on-site marquee, including extreme rockpooling, pond dipping, cool crafts, dawn chorus and moth madness.
You'll want to bring your walking boots along, too, as the National Trust will also be launching brand new permissive paths alongside Castlemartin Corse to Gupton Farm.
The trails - take your pick from short and long routes - will help you uncover more of the area and get closer to nature. They form part of a new project that the Trust is currently leading on to open up public access, improve conservation, as well as thinking ahead to coastal change.
The BioBlitz is completely free to attend and will help us understand more about the coastal wildlife at Freshwater West.
The event is being run in partnership with the Marine Biological Association, Pembroke 21C (CIC), Field Studies Council, Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Keep Wales Tidy, Natural Resources Wales, Amphibian and Reptile Conservation and Pembrokeshire Marine Special Area of Conservation.
