A WINDMILL Academy pupil who started in September is the fourth generation of his family to attend the same school.
Samuel Turnock is carrying on a family tradition. His great grandmother, Betty Issleib, attended in approximately 1932 at the age of three. Her mother had been ill, which is why she attended the school so early. Betty is now 88 years old.
Betty’s daughter, Anna Duke, attended Windmill from 1960 to 1967. All three of Anna’s daughters — Laura Garrett, Penny Woodridge, and Samuel’s mother Kathryn Turnock — also went to Windmill.
Samuel’s father Mark also went to Windmill School for a few years.
