FIVE additional defibrillators have been donated to Launceston by Hearts Together.
Regional charity, Hearts Together, previously known as HeartSWell South West, recently donated five publicly accessible defibrillators, complete with heated cabinets to Launceston, which have been strategically placed in high risk areas through out the town.
The funding for this charitable activity was awarded to Hearts Together by the Tesco ‘Bags of Help’ scheme, with shoppers voting for this cause with their blue tokens.
The defibrillators are situated at Launceston Library, the public toilets and the cemetery and two more are to be installed at the Co-operative Stores in Newport and on Western Road.
Liz Harding, Hearts Together’s chief executive said: “This is an incredible example of what can be achieved when communities work together and support one another. This collaboration between, Tesco Bags of Help scheme, the Tesco shoppers of Launceston, the town council, local residents, the Co-op and Hearts Together has made it possible to equip Launceston with an additional five publicly accessible defibrillators which is fantastic. Thank you to everyone who has helped to make this possible.”
