ST Breward Silver Band completed another Music in the Courtyard event, this year ending with a proms section complete with fireworks recently.

The junior band also took part and gave a performance of their favourite music.

The evening was shared with the very talented Songbirds and their MD Amy Sapwell — all from the Wadebridge area. It was without doubt the best one yet, and full to maximum capacity.

Members expressed thanks to all the residents for allowing them to share with them their wonderful location at De Lank, St Breward, and for all their help and co-operation given. Also thanks were expressed to St Breward Guides for so willingly helping them again to help run the whole event.

Band treasurer/organiser Mike Rowe said: “Without them, we could not have put on such a great evening. And to everyone else who attended our event — thank you so much. We hope you enjoyed your evening with us too.”

The very next day the senior band was at Newquay to perform on The Killacourt stage to a large and appreciative audience.

The band will complete its summer season by performing another Proms in the Park concert at the Doorstep Green, St Neot on Sunday, August 20 at 2.30pm.

The band will be then back in the Bandroom, St Breward, rehearsing for another major concert — this time in St Michaels Church, Newquay with The Meeagars Ensemble as its guest. This concert will take place on Sunday, September 24 at 7pm.
