PEOPLE in the Launceston area interested in finding out more about ‘mini emergency plans’ are invited to a meeting at the town hall’s Guildhall on January 26.

The Post has previously reported that an emergency plan for Launceston was adopted last year.

The plan had been put together by town councillor Paul O’Brien, who was assisted by Adam Chapman, a foundation degree Emergency and Rescue Management student at Duchy College.

Now, those interested in creating ‘mini emergency plans’ for specific areas of the town are being invited to an event to find out more.

Cllr O’Brien said the meeting is open to ‘anyone who is interested in the creation of an emergency plan for their own area’.

He added: “The town council has created one for the overall town but now we are thinking in terms of separate communities — like St Stephen’s, Stourscombe, Hendra, Dunheved.”

The meeting will take place in the Guildhall at 7pm on Tuesday, January 26.
