LAUNCESTON Rotary Club Community Shop recently donated a cheque for £1,500 to the LMAC management committee.
LMAC (Launceston Money and Advice Centre), who often work with the local foodbank, provides free, independent, impartial and confidential advice to those in financial difficulties, under the auspices of Community Money Advice UK.
The group plan to move to new premises at the Gateway Centre to obtain more space for the volunteers to deal with administration and also for confidential and proper space to meet clients, including accessibility.
The advisors currently have 86 live cases, 77 of which have arisen in the last twelve months, totalling debts of more than £600,000.
