THOSE participating in the fifth round of the Winter League Better Ball Competition at Launceston Golf Club enjoyed a February morning, in complete contrast to the recent wintry conditions.
The course was in very good condition and this was reflected in the scores. Competition will be keen in the last round scheduled for March 1 as there are several teams in contention for the overall prize.
Sunday's result: 1st, R Kellow & M Briggs 43pts; 2nd, J Baker & N Gerry 42pts; 3rd, M Cornish & D Barriball 40pts; 4th, R O'Neill & P Bott 40 pts.
After the competition a good crowd of members watched the Captain, John Bassett, the Ladies Captain, Teona Chegwyn and the Junior Captain, Adam Chapman, drive in.

On Thursday last another leg of the Winter League was played, 24 ladies took part in spring like weather, a stableford competition over 15 holes.
1st, Ms D Thomas 30pts; 2nd, Ms E Thomas 29pts; 3rd,
Ms S Powell 26pts; 4th, Mrs B Ratcliffe 25pts.
