The organisers behind the ‘Save Our Storm Tower’ campaign are hoping for one last push as the fundraiser draws to a close.

Bude-Stratton Town Council’s CrowdFunder campaign has urged members of the public to donate so that the tower at Compass Point can be moved.

With constant coastal erosion taking place at Compass Point, it was only a matter of time before the Storm Tower would need to be relocated — with an estimated cost totalling £350,000.

Cornwall Council have pledged £50,000 towards the project, with Bude-Stratton Town Council initiating a crowdfunding campaign to raise up to £75,000, with them matching donations pound for pound up to £25,000. The town council has also agreed to make an application to the Heritage Lottery Fund for the remaining amount required.

The fundraising comes to an end on April 5 and so far £37,576 has been raised towards the £50,000 target, with another £5,275.50 estimated in Gift-Aid.
