CHRISTMAS came early for the residents of Delabole as good old Santa made his way to the village for the St John’s Church Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, November 20.

A very large number of people gathered from the village and surrounding area to come and give their support. They certainly were in for a great afternoon with a lot of Christmas goodies on offer from delicious cakes from Cocoa Dips, tastefully decorated in Christmas designs, a wide range of Christmas lights and decorations, Christmas sweets and many stalls with some fantastic Christmas gifts — perfect to get people in the festive spirit.

Santa’s grotto was a lovely sight to see for the 40 children that came along to give him their Christmas wish list.

Greeted by the Christmas elf Sue Wilcox who guided them into the festive wonderland, each child left with a beaming smile and a gift from Santa himself.

The event managed to raise from the Bazaar, including donations, a fantastic £650 for church funds and along with the other stalls around £1,000 in two hours.

Church wardens Nigel and Trica Hicks said: “We are delighted with the support especially during these unprecedented times and would like to say a massive thank-you to all who came and gave the support to the event.”
