IN December, two Bude men decided to put on festive displays at their houses to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Both Chris and Robin Bale decorated their homes at Christmas time, receiving donations from generous visitors.

The funds raised were officially presented to the Cancer Research UK committee at Hanover House in Bude recently.

According to Chris Bale’s neighbour’s grandaughter, Freya, his Christmas lights were ‘amazing’.

Many other people must have thought so too, as Chris collected just under £242 for the charity.

This donation was presented to Ray Shaddick and the Cancer Research committee at its AGM on Monday, February 27.

Robin raised a fantastic £840.30, which was presented at the same time.

Chris expressed his thanks to everyone who kindly put a donation in the tin, and said he hopes they are looking forward to another display for Christmas 2017.

Chris said: “It is a pleasure to support such a worthwhile cause.”

Robin and his family too expressed their thanks toall those who donated so generously for this cause.

Committee chairman Ray Shaddick thanked both Chris and Robin for their wonderful donations.
