DESPITE the winter conditions there was more than enough festive fun for all the family at Holsworthy’s switch-on event.

Santa once again paraded through the streets in his sleigh, live music returned to the main stage and the Christmas market was brimming with local produce.

Mayor of Holsworthy, Cllr Helen Parker, said: ‘’The switch on event was a great success with the Square filled to capacity with happy smiling faces all awaiting the Christmas lights of Holsworthy Switch-on, despite the cold wet weather it was a wonderful afternoon/evening. There were splendid Christmas market stalls and lots of entertainment that was enjoyed by all ages. Father Christmas met many children and all received a lovely present donated by the Lions Club of Holsworthy and the Freemasons of Holsworthy. Special thanks go to Jon Hutchings our event coordinator, all councillors and officers plus the volunteers who enabled this event to happen.’’
