THE Post was pleased to have received many entries for the second month of its 2019 photography competition.
February was all about our furry little companions, with the theme being ‘Pawprints in the Sand’. We had three weekly winners for February — Pauline Marie Smith from Bude with a photograph of her dog, Bear, on Widemouth beach; Stacey Nott from Launceston with ‘Tui’ the Jack Russell on the beach at Booby’s Bay; and Clare Goodman from Launceston with a lovely photograph depicting the setting of Summerleaze beach in Bude.
However, our winner of the month for February was Kirsty Ferguson from Camelford with a beautiful image of her lovely dog Mabel, looking windswept on Rock beach. Kirsty, mayor of Camelford, will have her picture of Mabel featured as February’s photograph in our end-of-year calendar.
The theme for March will be ‘Spring Countryside’. With the evenings drawing out, flowers beginning to bloom and everything becoming just a little more fresh, we’re looking for bright, beautiful photographs of the lovely countryside around North Cornwall and West Devon, those shots of newborn spring animals bouncing across the field and even your favourite patch of daffodils allowing the hedgerows to burst into colour.
As always, we will publish a favourite entry from the week on our social media pages each Friday, with our overall winner of the month being announced at the end of March.
To get some recognition for your photography skills, send your entries to [email protected] with your details and a photograph title, or alternatively post the photograph to Instagram, tag us (@thepostseries) and private message us the details.
Good luck!
