BARCLAYS Bank in Launceston was temporarily closed on Monday, after a fault with the entrance to the building.

A note on the door of the bank on Monday read: “Due to an incident over the weekend we are closed temporarily until further notice.

“We apologise for any inconvenience.”

A locksmith was later seen attending to the fault.

A spokesperson from Barclays said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused to our customers in Launceston today, due to an issue with the lock on the front door, which prevented us from gaining access. I can confirm that the branch has now re-opened and is operating as normal.”
