Similar entry and a much faster trade, with the well fleshed lambs from £338 to £343 for a pen of 38.5kg to £132 from J Smale of Yarnscombe.

Messrs AJ & PE Nancekivell of Herdiscott of Kilkhampton saw their 44kg make 342ppk £150.50. Three vendors made 341ppk, Chris Jen of Fairholme, Woolsery 43.2kgs at £147.50, Rodney Huxtable of Bickleton 45.2kgs to £154 and Derek Gerry of Ashwater 46.2kgs to £157.50. Numerous pens on the day at £157 to £157.50.

Draft Ewes

Again a flying trade from start to finish with everything in the overall average was £133.18.

The few heavy ewes on offer sold to a top of £174 from Messrs Bolt & Moore of Torrington for Suffolk x Texel x Ewes to £168 from OVG Dennis & Son of Wickington, Full mouth Charollais x ewes to £166 from Dave and Mandy Walter of Sessacott, Putford. Mules to £165 from Geoff and Simon Grigg of Bideford.

138 Store Lambs

Again a very fast trade and are going dearer every week, our overall average toady was £130.25.

Top being £139 from J Smale of Yarnscombe for a Texel x Charollais to £138 from Kevin Heard of Bradworthy. Three vendors saw their Suffolk x lambs to £135.

357 Calves and Weaned Calves

More calves than expected for the end of November and another decent trade seen throughout especially for the medium sized calves.

Milk Calves

Still a strong trade throughout topping at £770 for an eye catching Inrax95 bull from BD & DG Andrew, Shebbear.

Next top price went to a strong run of 3-month-old Aberdeen Angus bulls selling to £680 (x5) for Ranches Ltd, Okehampton, who sold another five well to £585 younger Aberdeen Angus trading between £400-£500 for the best and £350-£400 for the mediums.

Best British Blue bulls to £660 (x2) for AW Pomeroy & Son, West Putford, £635, £615 for JW Lethbridge, Lewdown, more at £600 and £590 for Higher Trethern Ltd, Camelford. Charolais bulls to £645 for LJ Goaman & Son, Hartland, £630 and £580 for BD & DG Andrew again.

Limousin bulls attained £618, £598 for PH Collins Partnership, Holsworthy and £585 for NC & RM Skinner, Halwill. Hereford bulls to £540 for CRM Hancock, Liskeard, £510 for S & J Cook, Filleigh and £480 for GD & KE Kitto, Lamellion.

A run of British Shorthorn bulls reached £530, £428 and £410 for IJ & EC Dawkins, Hartland. Heifers topping this week at £638 & £570 for a British Blue from AW Pomeroy & Son again and £540 for JW Lethbridge again.

Limousin heifers to £635 for PH Collins Partnership again, £460 and £415 for NC & RM Skinner again. Charolais heifers to £450 twice for JR Bucknell, Tiverton and LJ Goaman & Sons, who sold more to £440.

Hereford heifers to £400 (x2) for WG Heal & Son, Bratton Flemming and £300 for JR Bucknell again. British Shorthorns to £270 (x2) for IJ & EC Dawkins again.

Dairy Sired Bulls

More Friesian bulls available this week selling to £305, £250 (x3) for Holland Partnership, Warkleigh, with more to £155 for Henscott Barton, Bradford, £145 twice for BD & DG Andrew again and RWH Dilling, Highampton.

150 Store Cattle

A smaller entry this week due to our Christmas show and sale taking place next week, however trade remained strong for those well-presented store cattle with good condition.

Two British blue heifers 22mths topped the day at £2080 on behalf of AW Wade of Welcombe. The rest of the heifers today seeing a good trade with other 20mth British blues from RJ Wade of Welcombe to £1970 & £1890 from HF Chubb & Son of Tetcott.

DF & ER James of Stowford saw younger 17mth Herefords achieve £1560(3) and others at £1480. 22mth Aberdeen angus steers from HF Chubb & Son to £1940 with Hereford steers to £1630.

Other 19mth Herefords to £1780 on behalf of JR & MJ Ovens of Halwill who then had younger steers to £1600. Dairy x Limousin steers 22mth from SC & KL Dilling of Holsworthy to £1870 with their Friesian steers 20mths to £1750.

Younger Stores

Trade was flying for the younger stores again this week and saw a well farmed Fleckvieh steer 16mths from C McWhirter of Winkleigh at £1980 with others to £1850 (15mths).

Steve Durlings 16mth Aberdeen angus steers to £1580 with other 14mth British blue steers to £1530. Messrs Timms of Inwardleigh saw a good run of 11mth Hereford heifers to £1350 and British blue heifers to £1240.

Messrs Bailey of Buckland Brewer had a terrific trade which saw their 7mth Charolais heifers to £1060 with other 6-7mth Aberdeen angus heifers to £1010.
