880 Fat Hoggs, 181 Draft Ewes and Rams
Much larger entry with the large preportion being heavier than 50 kilos and over, the average on the day was 337.1ppk.
The good meat medium weight sold to a top of 350ppk for 4 pens of 44.6kilos from Coombe Farm Partnerhsip of Minehead. Steve Glover of Venn Mills, Buckland Brewer realised 347ppk for his 41.2kgs at £143.
Two vendors at 346ppk, Geoffey George of Looseham 45.2kgs at £156.50 and Derek Challacomnbe of Thelbridge saw his 44.7kgs to £154.50. 8 vendors topped the day at £158.
Draft Ewes - More on offer and a flying trade with a lot of lean and plain ewes on offer. The good meat ewes sold to a top of £214 for a Texel from Miss A Cleave of Pigsdon of Launcells.
Suffolk x ewes to £182 from Lawrence Wickett of Bradworthy and Charollais x ewes to £180 from two vendors. Mules to £164.

453 Calves and Weaned Calves
A mammoth entry for the first sale of 2026 with 453 calves passing through the ring and trade on fire all the way through.
Top price this week came from the Goamans of Hartland with a standout Charolais Bull sailing away to £880. Other Charolais bulls to £760 for the Dymond’s across from Shebbear they also had another at £730. Blue Bulls well what a trade they were, £800 was achieved 4 times.
First for Nick and Kate Bowden of Beaworthy and secondly for Steven and Karen Kendall up from Bodmin. A tremendous show of calves from the Bradley Farm Partners of Bodmin who saw their best pair of Blue Bulls sail away to £800 a piece and other Blue bulls at £760 and £720 from the Bradley farm Partnership again.
Simmental Bulls reached £780 x2 for the Kendalls of Bodmin again. Any amount of young continental Bulls from £500-£600 looking some price, but it was in the Native Bred Bull calves where the trade of the year so far was witnessed.
Herefords topping the tree with Bull calves from the Raffe Family of Bradworthy at £635 x3 and £590 for the Bradley Farm Partnership. Angus Bulls to £635 x2 from the Kendalls of Bodmin and £580x4 for Mr. Good of Egloskerry.
The young very much on milk native bulls were reaching £400 time after time and just looking the trade of day. 33 Friesian bulls averaged £210, top was £360 x2 for the Sillifant family of Pancrasweek. The younger Friesian bulls regularly at £150 plus.
Heifer Calves - Top price Heifer calf was achieved by the Dymonds of Shebbear with usual Quality types, they also sold other young Charolais heifers at £610.
Best of the Blues reached £660x2 £640 and £635x2 for the Raffe’s of Bradworthy again. Simmentals to £520 for the Kendall Family of Bodmin again. Limousin Heifers reached £425 for the Nancekivells of Kilkhampton and £420 for Wrangworthy Dairy.
Native Heifers reached £630 for the Dymonds again for their Herefords. Best of the Angus heifers to £480 for the Bradley farm Partnership.

A superb entry for our first sale of 2026 with ring packed with buyers.
Very few forward cattle with the strongest of the wintering cattle topping at £2300 for a cracking run of Aberdeen Angus from Messrs FC & SJ Wade of Bradworthy whose other 19mth steers reached £2180.
Younger 15mth Aberdeen Angus from Messrs AW Pomeroy of Bradworthy to £1930 & £1920 for a good run of Aberdeen Angus from Messrs JW & JAV Prideaux of Bude. Other natives saw 3 well framed Herefords from Messrs AA AE & AA Parsons of Congdon Shop race away to £2090, other 22mth Herefords from Mr SW Graham of Bude at £2050.
Top of the continentals was £2150 for 4 thick British Blues at 16mths from Mr TR Slee of South Molton who sold others at £2010 and 16mth British Blues from Mr SW Graham selling well at £1890. Few meat heifers hit a top of £2060 for British Blue from SW Graham other British Blues from Messrs CG & BA Dart of Holsworthy to £2000 and Charolais to £1960.
Messrs DJ & ML Challacombe Friesian heifers to £1910 for a 29mth heifer from Messrs FC & SJ Wade of Bradworthy who topped the natives with 2 19mth heifers at £1870 other 16mth Aberdeen Angus from SW Graham to £1800. Most of the 16-19mth Continental & Native steers to £1700-£1900 and heifers the same age at £1600-£1800.
A good entry of younger stores saw keen demand. A 14mth Dairy x Aberdeen Angus from Messrs JW & JAV Prideaux to £1880 (6) heifers from the same farm to £1520.
A good run of cattle from Messrs Weavian Farms of Bideford saw 13mth Aberdeen Angus steers to £1520 others to £1460 and Aberdeen Angus heifers to £1400. A good run of younger 10mth natives from Mr PJ Dack of Parkham saw Hereford steers to £1170 others to £1100 and Aberdeen Angus heifers to £920.
British Blues from Mr MJ Andrews of Launceston at £1580 and British Blue steers again from Weavian Farms to £1550 & £1500 and a 14mth British blue steer from Messrs Holland Farmers to £1520. A cracking run of young 8mth coated cattle from Mr WA Raffe saw a lot of interest with British Blue steers to £1050, Hereford steers to £910, British Blue heifers at £960 and Hereford heifers to £770.
OTM Weighing Cows
An outstanding 912kilo South Devon cow from Mr Peter Warrington of Holsworthy topped the day at £2680. 268ppk for a 2017 (van) cow, pure Devon cows from Mr THC Barlow to £1885 others at £1553
