Prime Lambs
More new season lambs about and still more could have been sold.
The young tight skinned lambs very much in demand selling to a top of 440ppk for 42kgs at £185 from James Fishleigh of Torrington. 439ppk was realised by Chris & Sally Prouse of Court Green, Clawton for 40.8kgs at £179.
Followed by 435ppk from 2 vendors, James Fishleigh had his 40.2kgs to £175 and Nathan Goaman of Stitworthy sold 40kgs to £174. Top per head on the day was £192 from Mr Bown of Widefields, Inwardleigh.
Draft Ewes
A very fast trade for all on offer, overall average of £159.25.
Exmoor mules topped the day at £206 from WJ Crocker & Son of Colehouse, Merton and Suffolk x to £196 from Derek Broad of Launceston.
Texel x to £195 from Steve Pitts of Bratton Clovelly and mules to £176. Rams topped at £219 for a Texel from OVG Dennis & Son, who also sold other Rams at £200.
Fat Hoggs
Hogg numbers have started to dry up and the well fleshed hoggs still much sought after selling to 407ppk for 44kgs at £179 from Dave Colwill of Kilkhampton.
Rob Johns of Bradworthy made 405ppk for his 39kgs at £158, top per hed being £189.50 from IJ Jefferies of Hartland.
Couples 108 Ewes and 151 Lambs
Much larger entry and still a very strong trade from start to finish. Doubles up to £395 and singles up to £300 all Llynn x sold by Daniel Heard of Summerway Farm, Holsworthy.
Suffolk x doubles to £380 from Mark Walter of Lew Farm, Bradworthy and the Ford family of Newton Tracey had a large run of mule BM couples on offer. Doubles to £335 and singles to £270.
265 Calves
Milk Calves
Tight numbers but an unbelievable calf trade with the best end the dearest we have seen them in 2026. 26 Blue bulls over £700 with 49 averaging £611/head.
Top of the Blue bulls hit £840, £800, £790 and £760 for 1 month old calves in from Trenwood Farming LTD.
More away to £805 for shapely types in from Bradley Farm Partnership, £800 for the Stevens family, Woolsery, £780 Harvey Bros, Launceston, £752 RWH Dilling, £740 for MJ Hopper and £740 for TJ Boughton & Son.
Limousins bulls saw great demand and drew £800 for a smart month-old Limousin Bull in from Samuel Down coming down from Lapford, other well presented Limousins achieved £765 and £710 for AJ & PE Nancekivell, Kilkhampton and £700 (19 days old) from Michael Braunton up from Helland.
A pair of eye-catching Hereford bulls returned at £700 for Nick Cook, Buckland Brewer, younger types at £550 for AJ Bunkum up from Saltash.
A useful run of Angus bulls sold well and topped at £630, £620 and £610 for a consignment in from Andrew Jones, Launceston, others attained £600 for Trenwood farming. Charolais Bulls were light on the ground and returned at £658 for LJ Goaman, Hartland.
Heifers continue to sell to high demand and rose to £690 for a well put together Blue in from Bradley Farm Partnership, who sold more to £620, £600 and £590.
Others to £630 for The Stevens Family, and £590 for LJ & LE Luxton. Smart Limousin heifers £655, £575 and £530 x2 all in from Samuel Down followed by Charolais heifers to £535 for BD & RM Scrambler, Bude.
Angus heifers saw a hell of a trade selling to £490 for LJ & LE Luxton, £470 for AJ & PE Nancekivell and £448 for Trenwood Farming LTD.
Dairy Sired Bulls
12 Friesian bulls hit £285 for a pair Friesians in from Hawksridge LTD and more to £280 for MT Braunton, Helland with all averaging £247.
Weaned Calves
Small numbers reached £830 (7m) for an Angus bull in from Chris Marshall, Wadebridge.
263 Store Cattle
Another good entry although a more cautious trade due to the easing of the finished price, the strongest trade was for those stronger young cattle which allowed buyers time.
Top was £1970 for 3 20mth British Blues for Mr SW Graham of Bude whose second bunch of 6 sold well at £1840, others from Messrs TJ & JC Pincombe of Chumleigh to £1810.
Young 12-15mth well farmed British Blues from Messrs PH JM & RP Reed of Milton Dameral selling well at £1780 (2) & £1680 (3) and young 17mth Limousin steers from Messrs DP & CE Martin of Bude to £1760 (3).
Few native steers this week topped at £1880 for 2 19mth Aberdeen Angus from Messrs RJ & SM Wade & Son of Welcombe.
Best of the heifers this week was £1740 for 3 23mth British Blues from Mr SW Graham of Bude, Limousin heifers to £1680 from Messrs TJ & JC Pincombe of Chulmleigh.
Native heifers to £1670 for nine now FA well fleshed types from Messrs RJ & SM Wade & Son of Welcombe and Herefords to £1630 from Messrs DP & CE Marttin of Bude.
Friesian steers to £1730 for 2 smart British Friesian types from Messrs PH Collins & Son of Holsworthy.
Younger Cattle
Quality types in demand, 12mth Limousin steers from Messrs C Brooking & Son of Northlew to £1440 (2) who sold 2 13mth Charolais heifers to £1400.
Younger 6-8mth cattle from Mr J Angell of Holsworthy saw British Blue steers to £1350 & £1340, Aberdeen Angus steers to £1380 (5), British Blue heifers to £1240 and Charolais heifers to £1200.
Single suckled cattle to £1270 for an 8mth shapley Limousin steer from Mrs S Morgan of Halwill whose Limousin heifer also 8mths at £1270 and single suckled Simmentals from Messrs R & S Shadrick to £1220 for steers and £1080 for heifers.
