THE designs for the soon-to-be developed Camelford Skatepark have been released, with local people weighing up the options.

Camelford Town Council recently released the four skatepark plans from different contractors to their Facebook page (one pictured, right), triggering lots of opinion and excitement from people in and around the town.

The council wrote on their post that option four was ‘in the lead’, with students from Sir James Smith’s School and Camelford Primary School apparently favouring the fourth option.

People have also been showing their support for this option via social media and envisioning how the new skatepark could be beneficial to youngsters and the community, providing a spacious area for skaters to use.

Public comments and feedback will be taken on board by the contractors. The council urges anyone wanting to be a part of the official Skatepark User Group, who will be able to meet with the chosen contractor and provide further feedback, to contact them for more information.

It is expected the town council will make a decision on the contractor and skatepark design on October 17 (next Tuesday).

The project is reliant on receiving additional funding, which the council is looking into applying for this year.

The council is putting funds into this project, together with section 106 monies (money allocated from developers towards the community).

The council would like to start a user group to work with the successful company. If you would like to be part of this skatepark user group, email [email protected]
