THE foundations have been laid and the frame constructed as work continues on the new Otterham and St Juliot Hall.

Builders, Vanstone, of Bude, are busy working to schedule, with plans for completion by the end of summer. Hall committee member Kaye Wadey said: "Everybody around Otterham and St Juliot Hall is watching with great excitement as the new hall takes shape. "The builders are powering forward on a very tight schedule to see the Big Lottery's money put to good use in this sparsely populated area, which, nevertheless, is a magnet to events because of geographical situation of the present hall. "For several years the hall committee has wondered if the next gale or downpour would leave the community without this valuable asset."
