MORE than 90 people attended a community tea party at Ashwater Parish Hall on Saturday to commemorate the First World War.

Those who attended enjoyed an afternoon of socialising, took part in some friendly competition with a selection of traditional games and enjoyed a tea provided by a team of volunteers.

An extensive exhibition of research and wartime artefacts was kindly provided by Margaret Benjafield and Shaun Diamond as part of the Holsworthy Remembrance Project.

Organisers of the tea party expressed thanks to them for their display, which included details of some of those who left Ashwater to fight in the war.
